Hello! For those that don't know me, my name is Brent Jans and I'm the Venture-Captain for Pathfinder Society Organized Play in the Edmonton area. Technically, also the rest of Alberta at the moment, as we have no other Venture Officers in the province. But my main focus is here in Edmonton, working to grow the Pathfinder Society and make sure we have fun doing it. Basically, if you see a guy in a bright red shirt with "Venture-Captain" stitched on it at a PFS event, that's me. Come say hello, I don't bite.
I'm rolling out these forums along with the Edmonton Pathfinder Society website to give us a more useful virtual home. Our Facebook group was and is useful (and thanks again to Reuben for setting that up) and it's not going anywhere; it gives potential new players a way to find us on Facebook. But I felt it was time we had something more, something we could make our own. And as I was running into folks who didn't use Facebook (I know, but they're out there), I wanted a way to involve them in our community without forcing them to join social media they didn't want.
In a real sense, you can think of these forums as the "common room" of our virtual Pathfinder Lodge. A place for all of us to sit down, kick off our boots, and talk about just about anything. I hope you'll take the time to look around, introduce yourselves, and join in the conversations. Right now these forums are pretty sparse, but I expect that will change soon. I look forward to talking with you all, about PFS and other things.
Welcome to our Lodge! Pour yourself something cold and join the fun!
